ACTIVE 30 SCHOOLS

Active 30 Logo

The Government Childhood Obesity Plan has set out the ambition for all children to achieve 60 minutes of physical activity every day, with schools being responsible for delivering 30 of these active minutes.

The Active 30 Durham Campaign aims to help schools in County Durham to support every pupil to participate in 30 minutes of moderate to vigorous intensity activity every day at school – as recommended by the Chief Medical Officer (CMO).

As a county, we want our children to have the best start in life and physical activity plays a key part in physical, mental and emotional wellbeing and academic learning! The Active 30 Durham Hub provides schools with a centralised bank of resources which will include national and local resources, useful videos, documents, research and case studies to help schools make their school day active for every child. The Hub will be updated with new resources and case studies.
