The Premier League and BBC have teamed up to get the nation’s primary school children moving to warm up their brains ready to learn.

Working hand in hand with the Premier League Primary Stars resources, Super Movers offers teachers fun videos, ideas and incentives to inspire children to be more active throughout their day – all free and available online.

TAGTIV8

TagTiv8 provide a unique set of Active Learning Games to create fun, active and engaging opportunities that help children understand phonics, spelling and maths.

Tagtiv8 games are engaging and educational, easy to organise and play. Session Plans and Activity Cards are created by learners for learners so they are easy to follow and adapt.

GO NOODLE

Go Noodle provides hundreds of videos that activate kids’ bodies and brains.

YOUTH SPORT TRUST

The Youth Sport Trust has developed a useful guide: 10 steps to an active school

PHYSICALLY ACTIVE SCHOOLS

The Department for Education has launched a online video collection to support young people’s mental and physical health!

Available on YouTube, the resources provide creative and entertaining content that can support school staff to safely deliver 30 minutes of physical activity in a covid-secure environment.

JUMP START JONNY

Jump Start Jonny provides a range of video activities aimed at getting children more fit and active.

TRY YOUR BEST

This lesson starter inspires pupils to warm up with a 1-minute video clip featuring the England Lionesses and performers from the hit West End musical The Lion King, and to reflect on what it means to try their best.

It can be used to encourage a positive mindset at the start of any lesson, as a PE warm-up or to help establish high expectations with a new class.

Teach Active is a online resource that provides teachers with lesson plans and resources to deliver the Primary Maths and English curriculum through physical activity.

YOUTH SPORT TRUST

Active Maths is a Youth Sport Trust resource which uses PE and physical activity to raise achievement in maths. There is the option of online or face to training.

Active North East is a brand new school children and families TV show on Tyne & Wear TV – Freeview Channel 7.

ACTIVE 30 CAMPAIGN BOOKLET

The Active 30 campaign builds on the Active 30 programme to embed physical activity and wellbeing into young people’s lives.

ACTIVE AT HOME

Schools and parents / carers have a role to play in supporting children to move more throughout each day. The UK Chief Medical Officer’s guidelines provide recommendations on the frequency, intensity, duration and types of physical activity at different life stages, from early to later years.

ACTIVE 30 SCHOOLS

The Government Childhood Obesity Plan has set out the ambition for all children to achieve 60 minutes of physical activity every day, with schools being responsible for delivering 30 of these active minutes. The Active 30 Durham Campaign aims to help schools in County Durham support every pupil to participate in 30 minutes of moderate to vigorous intensity activity every day at school
